Professional Association
Interpreters' and Translators' Association
The Interpreters' and Translators' Association, Dolmetscher- & Übersetzervereinigung, dates back to 1951 and is open to all graduates of the Zurich School for Translation and Interpretation (DOZ), now the Department of Applied Linguistics and Cultural Studies of Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW).
DÜV currently has a membership of just under 400.
Twenty members work for the different Association committees on an honorary basis. And some 250 members work for the Agency in a freelance capacity.
Contrary to the case for many other commercial translation agencies, DÜV pays its translators and interpreters an appropriate fee. With just a low level of commission going to the Agency, customers do not incur any higher costs. The income from the Agency business is used to run the Association’s office.
Alumni ZHAW
DÜV is one of the basic associations making up the Alumni ZHAW association of graduates of Zurich University of Applied Sciences Winterthur.
